We regularly receive reports or e-mails about the terrible conditions in which animals are kept here in Mallorca. We will publish some of these to give an impression of how much suffering we are confronted with.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I wonder if you could help me, a supporter of WSPA has contacted our UK headquarters in London after returning from a visit to Palma. They expressed concern to the condition of the horses that pull carriages for visiting tourists in Palma

There concern was that the horses were painfully thin and some of the owners were seen hitting their horses around the head. They said the carriages were numbered and those which concerned them were as follows:
Numbers 4, 5, 28,33, 38, 40, 65.

Normally we would pass these concerns to one of our member societies within the region, but unfortunately we have none on Mallorca. I would be most grateful if you could provide any information on the carriage horses or if you are familiar with the situation. Any information would be appreciated or if you have details of another animal welfare organisation that is near or in Palma.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Alistair. Alistair Findlay
